Is Isabella The Princess Bride or The Pot of Basil

Isabella; or, The Pot of Basil, is a poem by John Keats. Published in 1818, it adopts its story from Giovanni Boccaccio’s The Decameron. On the other hand, The Princess Bride is a Hollywood classic released in 1987 and mostly known as a fantasy adventure comedy. For my video essay, I wanted to focus on the two together and merge my interests in both literature and film as the final project for one of my courses in university. I aim to show that Isabella; or, The Pot of Basil, can be read as a fantasy story and that it can multi-function as a folk tale.
